#485-CG Life Preserver Survival Vest (LPSV)
The new and updated version of the original LPSV design by Lifesaving Systems.  It is a compact, lightweight, and comfortable to wear inflatable life preserver and survival vest combination intended for boat crew and boarding team members.  

The vest provides superior performance and comfort when compared to inherently buoyant Type III PFDs.  Especially when worn together with a ballistic protective vest and survival equipment.  This makes the vest ideal for crew members performing a wide range of tasks including search & rescue response, law enforcement and environmental protection both near and off shore.  Click photo for larger image.

#485-CG LPSV

The inflation mechanism is the manual/automatic Secumatic™ inflator (#470), providing reliable automatic inflation when submerged in water.  Manual inflation by pulling the beaded lanyard or by oral tube.  The flotation cell is encased entirely in a heavy-weight, puncture/abrasion resistant nylon case.  When inflated the vest produces a positive righting moment (face-up) with approximately 35 lbs of buoyancy.  Due to the encased design, the cell is simply repacked by deflating, folding under, and then snapping in place.

Equipped with two pockets (5" x 4.5" x 1.75") for survival equipment or other small items.  Pockets are positioned to reduce interference and provide optimal weight distribution.  Front zipper closure with lower 1-1/2" Delrin^® buckle on waist strap for added safety.  Waist adjustment is easily accomplished with two quick release Delrin^® adjustors.  Includes CO₂ cylinder and necessary arming components.

#481 Pro Lite Vest, Manual
Lightweight and extremely comfortable to wear.  The #481 is inflated by a sharp pull on the beaded CO₂ inflator lanyard.  The vest can also be inflated orally and provides the SOLAS standard 35 lbs. of buoyancy.  Thirty-five pounds is more than 1.5 times the buoyancy of a Type I PFD (US Offshore Device) and more than twice that of a Type III PFD (Flotation Aid).  The Pro-Lite Vest inflatable cell is constructed of 210 denier polyurethane-coated nylon for rugged durability and requires minimum maintenance.  When inflated, the orange cell exposes SOLAS grade retroreflective panels and attached whistle.  The inflatable cell is protected with a heavy duty nylon cover.  Utilizes a 33 gram CO₂ cylinder (#484), included.  Click photo for larger image.

#481-P Pocket, Pro Lite Waist Belt
An optional equipment pocket that attaches to the waist belt of the #481 series Pro Lite vests including the new #481-CG models.  The pocket will also fit other manufacturer's inflatable vests which utilize a similar 2" wide or smaller waist belts.  Zippered pocket for storage of survival equipment and a separate survival knife pocket.  GSA Contract #GS-07F-0078H.
